Help with routines, sharing sessions, your training history and Four Plates Pro.
For logging, records, medals and how Four Plates uses your data, read How Four Plates works.
How do I bring my history from another app?
Export your history from the other app as a CSV file. In Four Plates, open Settings and tap Import Workout History. Choose Kilograms or Pounds to match that export, then choose your file.
Four Plates tells you how many sessions and sets it imported, and whether it skipped entries already here. Importing your history is free.
Can I import routines from a CSV file?
Yes. One file can hold several routines. Open New Routine and choose Import from File. Choose kg or lb to match the weights in your file, then tap Choose CSV File.
Use one row per exercise. The required columns are Routine, Exercise, Sets and Reps. The optional columns are Weight and Superset.
- Sets is a whole number from 1 to 20.
- Reps is a whole number from 1 to 999, or a range such as 8–12. Four Plates uses the first number in a range and says so in the preview.
- Weight is a target in the unit you chose. Leave it blank if you don’t want a target.
- Give neighbouring exercises in the same routine the same Superset label to group them.
Use Get the Template in the app, or download the routine CSV template. It has Push and Pull routines to fill in. Four Plates shows a preview before you tap Import; existing routines stay as they are.
Four Plates doesn't check imported plans. You choose every weight.
What can I do with Four Plates on Apple Watch?
The Watch app comes with Four Plates Pro. It follows the session on your iPhone, showing the next set and a rest ring.
Tap the weight or reps, then turn the Digital Crown to change that number. Use Log Set to log the set. During rest, use +30s to add time or Skip to end the rest. With no session running, the app offers Start Session.
How do I back up and restore everything?
In Settings, choose Back Up Everything to save one file with your sessions, routines, custom exercises and notes. Backup and restore are free.
To bring that file into Four Plates, choose Settings › Restore from Backup. Check the preview, then tap Restore. Restoring only adds what's missing: nothing already in Four Plates is changed or deleted, and your settings stay as they are.
How do I share one session?
After finishing a session, choose Share Session. For an older session, open it in History and open Options. Choose Share as Text or Share as CSV File, then choose where to copy, save or share it.
Sharing a session is free. Notes are never included in either format.
Can I correct a past session?
Yes. Open History, choose the session, then open Options › Edit Session. You can rename it, correct sets, and add or remove sets. Editing your history is free.
What does the iCloud sync status mean?
Settings › iCloud sync shows the latest status Four Plates knows about. Sync is included for everyone.
- Last synced … — when Four Plates last saw a sync finish successfully.
- Syncing… — a sync is running.
- Waiting for a connection — Four Plates is waiting for a connection before it can sync.
- iCloud storage is full — sync can continue once there’s room in iCloud.
- Sign in to iCloud to sync — you need to sign in to iCloud to use sync.
Read the privacy policy for how your training is stored on your device and in iCloud.
How Four Plates describes sync and where your data is stored.
How do I restore Four Plates Pro?
In Four Plates, open Settings and tap Restore Purchases. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase.
How do I cancel a subscription?
On your iPhone, go to your Apple Account in Settings, open Subscriptions and select Four Plates Pro. Choose Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period or free week ends to avoid renewal. The pay-once option is a single purchase, rather than a subscription. See the terms of use for the prices and subscription terms.
How do I export my data?
In Four Plates, open Settings and tap Export Workout History (CSV). Choose where to save or share the file. Your history is yours to take, and exporting is free.
Where can I read the training safety notice?
Read Before you start on the terms page.
