At the gym

Weights, reps and last time.

A weightlifting log for barbell, dumbbell, machine and bodyweight exercises. Choose your exercises and weights; Four Plates keeps the record.

Log one set at a time

See last time’s weights and reps next to the set you’re logging. Add how it felt if you like, then log the set.

Save routines and supersets

Keep your usual gym routines ready to start. Pair exercises into supersets and log a set of each, with rest after each round.

Rest timer and barbell plates

Use the rest timer between sets or after a superset round. The barbell plate calculator draws the weight you’ve chosen and shows the plates on each side.

How Four Plates works

Your data stays yours

Your training is stored on your iPhone. With iCloud, it syncs through your private, end-to-end encrypted database so only your own devices can read it.

Logging is free

Logging, history, routines, supersets, import, export, backup and sync are free. Pro adds the Apple Watch app, longer-range charts, bigger widgets and more, with a one-week free trial on the annual plan.

Four Plates on Apple Watch

Part of Four Plates Pro: start a routine or Freestyle, see the next set, change weight or reps and tap Log Set. The Watch follows the session on your iPhone, where your training is recorded.

Back up everything

Save every session, routine, custom exercise, note and goal in one file. Restoring adds only what’s missing, without changing or deleting anything already in Four Plates.

Records and medals

Records count new bests from sets of 3 to 12 reps; singles and doubles never count for the Records medal. Medals add up over months and years.

Bring your old sessions with you.

Four Plates reads a common workout CSV format. Choose the file and the units it uses, then import your sessions. You can export your logged sessions as CSV too. Both are free.

How to bring your history

A few details

Before you download

Do I need Pro to read old sessions?

No. All your logged sessions stay free to read. The free strength training charts cover the last four weeks; Pro adds three months, one year and all time.

Can I log workouts in pounds?

Yes. Choose kilograms or pounds and set your bar weight in Settings. You can change units later and keep the same training history.

Do I need an account?

No account or sign-in is needed to use Four Plates. Your gym log is stored on your device, with iCloud sync between your own devices if you use iCloud.
